igf Chapters across Canada, the National Board of Directors created a
fund to provide one member, in good standing, to attend either PD Week 2012 in Ottawa (November 2012) or PSMW 2013
in Toronto in June. The lucky winner from each Chapter is provided a travel allowance, including registration fees to take in
the event. Winners were declared through a random draw by the Chapter’s executive. Congratulations to all the winners. The

The FMI Capital Chapter had a very successful finish to its
2012-2013 year with a record turnout to its final Professional
Development (PD) Day and Year End Celebration in June.
Incoming FMI National President Mr. Marcel Boulianne gave
a well-received talk on the importance of taking advantage
of opportunities to help boost your career. He also presented
FMI National’s 50th Anniversary Recognition Awards to many
long-serving FMI volunteers. With Capital Chapter’s AGM in
September, the kick-off to the 2013-2014 season was a resounding
success—especially October’s PD Day on the subject of Internal
Controls and a special Members’ Meeting to modify the by-
laws for filing under Part II of the new Canada Not-for-profit
Corporations Act. A big thank you goes out to all volunteer liaisons
and subject matter experts from Federal government departments
