PD Week 2013
Every year, financial management professionals gather to share insights on current
technologies and trends in the FMI community. Professional Development Week 2013
offers the opportunity to learn about upcoming challenges and opportunities for the
community as a whole.
This year’s theme,
“Transformation through Innovation”
, aligns with the priority of
all financial managers across the government to deliver quality services to Canadians
in a manner which is efficient and cost-effective. By rethinking how we do our jobs
and continually pushing the limits to develop innovative methods to do our tasks
better, we can provide our clients with improved service.
I am pleased to be your honorary chair for this important week and encourage
you to attend as many sessions as you can to take full advantage of the knowledge,
insight and experience that will be shared. I am confident that the program being
developed will advance individual skills and knowledge in an environment where
strong financial management continues to be a priority.
There are challenges ahead, but it’s a very exciting time. We have the ability to
shape the future of government and the public service and what we do will have an
impact on how services are delivered across all levels of government.
I look forward to seeing you at the conference.
