IGF-Montreal is pleased to announce that Mr. Robert
McCollough, Vice-President of the National Bank, has
recently joined its Board of Directors. He joins Chapter
President, Alexandre Cavuoti, CPA, CGA, LL.M.; Secretary,
Louis Goulet, MBA; Treasurer, Élisabeth Silva; Past-
Present, Guy Ménard, CPA, CGA; and, Directors, Alain
Lévesque, CPA, CGA; Nicole Poulin; and, Pierre Leclerc,
MBA. After reviewing the IGF-Montreal’s Strategic Plan,
the executive is putting the final touches on its action plan
that will be implemented during the next fiscal year. A few of
the Chapter’s objectives include the establishment of a youth
network; continue to offer half-day or full-day learning
sessions; and develop partnerships with organizations that

have a related and complementary mission. The fourth and
final Prestige luncheon of the 2013-2104 programme year
“Financial and Economic Perspectives 2014” will be held on
Thursday, May 15th with Mr. Matthieu Arseneau, a senior
economist with the National Bank of Canada.
Alan G. Ross Award
The Alan G. Ross Award for Writing Excellence is awarded annually to the
individual(s) who contribute the best article (feature or column) to the

igf Journal during the year. If your article is printed in the Autumn
2013 or Spring 2014 issue, you will become eligible to receive the 2014
award. The Alan G. Ross Award will be presented during PD Week 2014 at
the Ottawa Convention Centre in November.
J. Bailey Church
, winner of the 2013 Alan G. Ross Award, was
presented his award by FMI Past President, Lucia Stachurski, at PD
Week 2013. Mr. Church’s article “The Real Implications of Downsizing on
Government Finance Functions” was featured in the Winter 2013 issue of
